Anchor In: It's now time to take a look at something many students who attend Eastview High School do quite regularly, in an attempt to give back to their community.

Anchor Out: Thanks, Carrie. If you're trying to find something worthwhile to spend your time on look no further. There are plenty of opportunities one can take advantage of, so go ahead and go.

Sengstack's Video Shooting Tips
1. List and describe two things you already knew.
-A lot of the things on the 'shooting axioms' list I already knew, such as not overusing zoom, as well as things such as the rule of thirds.
-I also already knew about getting wide and tight shots; it can lead to the image looking more fresh, and the audio will be heard better, if there's any.
2. List and describe two things you learned for the first time.
-Leaning forward or backward to get different angels, instead of overusing the zoom in and out buttons.
-Film more shots then you need- it's better to cut a lot out than wishing you had more to show.

"A man's love and effort pays off in a big way."
2. Give two examples of short sound bites from the story.
1. "I've never really fully weighed the thing yet- There's something I like about the mystery of it all."
2. "I named him Chewbaca- all he does is eat."
3. Give an example of sequenced shots.
An example of sequenced shots was when the camera man shot him measuring the pumpkin.

Shayna's Story
1. What is the role of the reporter's segues in this story?
The reporter's segues give more information to the viewer, little details such as how far she dropped, how long she was in the hospital, etc. The segues also helped move the story along so it didn't get too stuck on one particular topic/idea.
2. Why do you think she did not include a stand-up in this story?
I think she didn't include a stand-up in this story because it would have taken away from the initial feel and focus of what the story is about- I think it was a good choice, too.
3. What was the biggest surprise in the story?
For me, the biggest surprise was that Shayna was pregnant while she fell, and that the baby was born perfectly fine.
4. How does the story end with hope?
The story ends with hope in regards to both the baby and Shayna being healthy and okay, that they pulled through with it. Another thing that added to the feeling was Shayna's quotes about believing in miracles and God.

The Death of Steve Jobs
On Wednesday October 5th, the distressing news was delivered to the public that Apple Founder Steve Jobs had passed away from cancer.
Jobs was born February 24th, 1955 and was a hugely inspirational person. Without him, millions of people today would have no clue what an iPod or iPad is. Steve was a major influence in the tech world.
