The Great Pumpkin Shortage

It's that time of year again.

Leaves are turning color and falling from the trees, bonfires are being attended, and the apple cider is being heated up and put into mugs to take on the road.

But this year farmers are sadly declaring that there's going to be a pumpkin shortage, thanks to all the wacky weather we've recieved this summer and Hurricane Irene happening. The biggest shortage is in the Northeast. The public is being recommended to buy their pumpkins early, or get creative and use a different vegetable to celebrate October 31st's Halloween with.

Criteria:

1. Unusualness- this is different, it doesn't happen every year.
2. Timeliness- it's the same season.
3. Proximity- this will affect a lot of us.
